Bride's Choice Award

Wow big week for Roush Productions.  I found out on Tuesday that I was named one of DFW's Bride's Choice Award winners for WeddingWire.

The award is handed out based on client reviews.  It is such an honor to be receive this award, especially since it is based on my client's satisfaction

Sabbatical

Sorry I have been on Sabbatical from blogging lately.  Honestly, between the holidays, weddings, Christmas parties, and meeting with prospective brides...I have just been swamped since Thanksgiving.

I will make some updates this week!

Custom Garter Anyone?

Are you interested in a custom garter?
I recently discovered Julianne Smith, an online vendor who creates wonderfully unique garters...so fun that you may not want to use it for the garter toss. (Since you get a free tossing garter I am assuming that is a common complaint)

Backer/Hurta Reception

This weekend's reception was at K-Star Ranch in Mansfield. The venue is big! There were twenty plus 10 top tables, and they could have easily fit another 10 tables.

K-Star comes equipped with video projector and screen, designated bar area, and dressing rooms in case you would like to have your ceremony on site.

Amy & Blake were both graduates of Texas A&M University, so there were plenty of Aggies in attendance at their reception.

Blue Mesa catered the reception. The guests seemed to really enjoy the food and the staff kept the buffet line moving very quickly.

I haven't gotten pictures back from this reception, but I hope to have some to post later in the week.

The Hurta's guests came to celebrate. The dance floor was packed all night and there were still 70% of the guests in attendance when it came time for the birdseed sendoff.

Last Word

One last picture.

Joe & Lisa are the epitome of why I love to be a DJ. They wanted something unique and personal- something that fit their style and reflected who they are as a couple.

When Joe and I sat down, he told me flat out that he did not want me to play many songs I would normally play at a wedding reception. They wanted to party- and party we did!

Joe and Lisa allowed me to mix in some Radiohead, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, and Ben Folds into the dinner/cocktail mix. I am always happy to oblige unless you want death metal during dinner...

Nacho Joe

So if you have been following this weeks posts, you know that the bride and groom for my most recent reception went to Mexico the week before their wedding.

The groom picked up a little souvenir, which he proudly displayed about an hour into the dancing portion of the reception. Joe's timing was impeccable because it took the crowd's energy that much higher.

Felan Reception Cakes

Here are a couple of shots of Lisa & Joe's wedding cake. It was so unique and fit their reception perfectly. The cake is a Frosted Art masterpiece.

Joe & Lisa had gone to Mexico for Dia Del Muertos, so the cake was a perfect fit for their reception's overall theme.

Thanks to Phil Holland at Holland Studios for the great pics.

Love the bride and groom figurines!

Masterpiece.

Closer look.

November 8th Reception

Saturday's reception was at Level 2 which is near Dallas' historic West End. Unfortunately, I left my camera at home. Fortunately, I met a great new photographer who sent me some shots to add to my blog.

If you are looking for a photographer, I definitely recommend checking out Phil Holland with Holland Photo Studio. He captures the moment without you noticing the flash is going off. Amazing photographer. I loved how easy he was to work with and how much attention he paid to the bride and groom all night long.

Last minute adjustments to the cocktail hour playlist. (deep in thought)

Alright here are the lost of the pics from the Bodenhamer reception. To see the rest of the pictures go here.

First Dance

This is the perfect photo to explain why I love to have my wife with me to take pictures.

How did that cake get there?

Too cute.

If you follow my blog you know this is my favorite type of shot. I want my clients to celebrate with their friends.

The end of a great reception. The end of a great series of pictures.

Bodenhamer Ceremony

Happy Halloween!!! I am taking off for Baylor Homecoming shortly so I thought I would post a couple more photos from last Saturday's reception. I am just overflowing with pictures this week and I love it!!! I have a post scheduled for my absence tomorrow.

Next week may be quiet since I actually have a Saturday off tomorrow. This is the first Saturday I have had off since August, so it is much needed.

Pics...

Needless to say the ceremony was picturesque...
Brandy about to walk down the aisle. The ceremony.

Walking up the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife. I love Darren's smile- it truly says what words fail to express.
